The 4 Wives
It was a rich merchant who had 4 women. He loved the 4th Woman who has the most and adorned with rich robes and treated to delicacies. He took great care of her and gave her only the best. He also loved the 3rd Woman very much. He is very proud of her and always wanted to show it to his friends. However, the merchant is always in great fear that she might run away with other men. He too, loved its 2nd Woman. She is a very observant person, always patient and in fact is the merchant confidante. If the traders are still some problems, he keeps to its 2nd Woman, and she would help him tide him over and through difficult times. Now the dealer has the 1st Woman is a very loyal partner and has made great contributions to the preservation of his wealth and business as well as taking care of the household. However, the merchant does not love the first wife and although she loved him very much, he has hardly notice it. One day, the merchant fell ill. It was not long before he knew that he will soon die. He thought of his luxurious life and told herself: "Now I have 4 women with me. But when I die, I'm alone. How lonely I'll be right!" So he asked the 4th Woman: "I loved you most, and to you the most beautiful clothes and showered care about you. Now, when I die, will you follow me and my company?" "No," replied the 4th Wife and they went away without another word. The answer cut like a sharp knife right into the heart of the merchant. The sad merchant then asked, 3rd Wife, "I have loved you so much for my whole life. Now, when I die, will you follow me and my company?" "No," replied the 3rd Woman. "Life is so good here, I will marry again, if you die!" The merchant fell and the heart is cold. He then asked the 2nd Wife, "I am always here for you to help, and you have always helped me out. Now I need your help again. When I die, will you follow me and my company?" "I'm sorry, I can not help this time, "replied the 2nd Woman. "At the very most, I can only give you to your grave." The answer came like a bolt of thunder and the merchant was devastated. Then a voice cried: "I will be with you. I follow you, wherever you go." The merchant saw, and it was his first wife. She was so thin, almost like they are suffering from malnutrition. Very saddened, the dealer said: "I would have much better care of you, while I could have!" Indeed, we all have 4 women in our lives The 4th Wife is our body. No matter how much time and effort we lavish in the look good, they will get if we die. Our 3rd Wife is our possessions, status and wealth. When we die, they all go to others. The 2nd Wife is our family and friends. No matter how closely she was there for us when we are alive, the furthest they can stay by us is up to the grave. The 1st Wife is in fact our soul, often neglected in our pursuit of material wealth and sensual pleasure. Guess what? It is actually the only thing is that we are where we are going. Maybe it's a good idea to cultivate and strengthen it now rather than wait until we are on our deathbed to lament.
